MOTHER MARY CANICE.
Mother Mary Canice, of the Sisters of Charity, who died last Friday, had a fine record of service in the Roman Catholic Church.  A daughter of the ltte Mr. J. Bruton,
a former Customs official, she entered the Novitiate of the Sisters of Charity at Potts Point In 1886.  She then became a teacher at St. Vincent's College, Potts Point, which had been established by her aunt, Mother Ursula.  Later, she was appointed Superior at Hurstville, and went from there to Woollahra.  She was then appointed rectress of the Catholic College, Grey Street, Melbourne.  She was elected Superior-General of the Order of the Sisters of Charity in 1924, and held office for the maximum period, 12 years.  In that time, she performed outstanding work, resulting in the building of new hospitals in Brisbane, Tasmania, and at South Hurstville.  On vacating office, she was placed in charge of the Hospice for the Dying, Darlinghurst.  Archbishop Gilroy presided at the Solemn Office and Mass at St. Vincent's Convent
Chapel, Potts Point, yesterday.  The interment took place subsequently at Rookwood Cemetery.  There was a large attendance of clergy, laity, and members of the medical profession.

SISTER MARY COMYN.

The death occurred on Wednesday, after a short illness, of Sister Mary de Ricci Comyn, who had been connected with the Bethlehem Convent, Ashfield, for three years.
Bom at Geelong, Victoria, she was for 25 years In various convents of the Sisters of Charity in this State.  A requiem mass was celebrated at St. Vincent's Church, Ashfield, at which four Vincentian Fathers attended-Rev. Father A. Power, P.P., Father G. Power, Father Lynch, and Father Keenan.  Children of Bethlehem Convent and
St. Vincent's parish school, and boys of La Salle College formed a guard of honour as the funeral cortege proceeded along Bland street, and the remains were interred at Rookwood Cemetery, in the plot set apart for the Sisters of Charity.  The service at the graveside was conducted by Father A. Power

THE REV. SISTER PATRICK.
The death occurred on Wednesday of the Rev Sister Maiy Patrick who had for many years been sister in charge of St Vincent's Private Hospital Darlinghurst.  Sister Patrick who was one of the best-known nursing religious sisters in Sydney had been a member of the Slsteis of Charity Order for 40 years.   She was in her 62nd year at the time of her death.  Sister Patrick was born at Kilmillkin Maam County Galway Ireland.  She arrived in Sydney at the age of 18 and after completing her training at St Vincent's Hospital she became a nursing Sister of Charity.   She enjoyed the confidence of the medical profession to a remarkable degree.
A Requiem Moss was celebrated yesterday morning in the Sisters chapel at St Vincent's Private Hospital.  The funeral took place afterwards in the special portion allotted to the Sisters of Charity in the Rookwood Catholic Cemetery.   The Rev Father R B Coughlan was the celebrant of the Requiem Mass and also recited the prayer- at the graveside.  An impressive scene was witnessed when the casket was borne from the chapel to the hearse Sisters of Charity bearing lighted candles followed by a large number of Clergy in choir dress passed through a guard of honour of former and present nurses while the hymn Venl Sponsa Christi was sung.  The principal mourners were Mrs K King (sister in-law) and Messrs Hugh and Charles King (nephews)

SISTER MARY JOHN GABRIEL.

The death has occurred at St Joseph's Convent Auburn of Sister Mary John Gabriel (Mary Agnes Murray).  Sister Mary John Gabriel was associated for many years
with St Vincent's Hospital Darlinghurst, St. Vincent s Hospital Melbourne and St Joseph's Hospital Auburn.   A requiem Mass at St John's Church Auburn was attended by members of the Sorority nurses from St Joseph's Hospital and others.
