                                                                                          The Late Sitter Mary Winifred

                                                                                          A requiem mass for the repose of the soul of the late Sister Mary Winifred (Hunter), of St; Joseph's Convent, Fremantle, was offered up at St. Patrick's Church. Adelaide street, Fremantle,. at. 9 o'clock yesterday morning, when His Grace the Archbishop of Perth (Dr. P. J. Clune, C.S.S.R.) presided.  The Very Rev. Father J. Neville, O.M.I., was the celebrant.  Other priests in the sanctuary were the Rev. Fathers E. Kenny and J. Ryan, O.M.I.. Philip Ros, O.S.B., and Risben.  There were also pre sent the Rev. Brother Duffy and Brothers W. E. Staunton, Redmond and Murphy (Christian Brothers, Fremantle) and the Rev. Brother A. L. O'Shea (Castledare).  Practically the whole
                                                                                          of the accommodation in the church was filled and among those present were Sisters of the Church, scholars from St. Joseph's School, Fremantle, pupils from the Christian Brothers' College, and numerous other members of the Roman Catholic ' community.
                                                                                          His Grace, in the course of a brief address, referred to the exemplary life which the deceased Sister had led and in feeling terms spoke of her earnest devotion to duty and tendered his sympathy to the sisters and relatives in their loss.  Sister Mary Winifred was born at Yorkshire, England, and came to Western Australia with
                                                                                          her parents when 10 years of age.  She received her education at St. .Joseph's Convent, Albany, and was a pupil of marked ability.  Her kindly nature won for her  the affection of all with whom she became associated.  She entered the Convent when 10 years of age at St. Joseph's Fremantle, and had been there ever since.  Sister Mary Winifred was a very successful teacher of music and commercial subjects for several years.
                                                                                          At the conclusion of the mass the funeral cortege proceeded to the Karrakatta Cemetery where the remains were interred in the presence of a large gathering;. The Rev. Father E. Kenny, O.M.I., conducted the last rites, assisted by the Rev. Father J. Ryan. OJI.I.  The chief mourners were the Rev. Mother and Sisters of St. Joseph's Convent. Fremantle. Mr. C. Hunter (father), Mesdames C. Prior and A. Thomas (aunts), Mr. A. Thomas (uncle) and Mrs. Medlock (cousin).  The priests, and members of the Fremantle Sodality of the Children of Mary, in regalia, preceded the cortege from the cemetery gates to the graveside, and the following members of the sodality were pall-bearers: — The Misses Doris Short; Brigid McGinley, Olive Toomey. Patricia Crogan, Dulcie Boyle and Ronnie Mahoney.
                                                                                          Among others present at the graveside were Messrs. E. B. Reilly, Gerald Horgan, B. Quinn, B. Rider, Barwick. P. Brown, E. Hosking, O. Thomas, and F. W. Foweraker; Mesdames P. McCormack, H. L. Johnston, S. Thompson, and K. Secombe; Misses C. Stack. M. Ashe, G. Burrowes. A. Smith, and M. Purcell ; and Masters T. Mahoney. H. Durrant, J. Foley and Bob Cusack (Christian Brothers' College, Fremantle).
                                                                                          The funeral arrangements were carried out by Arthur E. Davies and Company.

                                                                                          a Requiem Mass for the repose of the soul of the late Sister Mary Elizabeth (Clancy), of St. Joseph's Convent, Fremantle, was offered up at St. Patrick's Church. Adelaide-street,  Fremantle, at 9.30 o'clock yesterday morning, when Monsignor Verling, V.G., presided, and the Very Rev. Father J. Neville, O.M.I., was the celebrant.  Other priests in the sanctuary were the Very Rev. Dean Brennan and the Rev. Fathers E. Kenny and T. Purcell, O.M.I., Philip Ros, O.S.B., Hogan and Glover, C.SS.R., Maloney,
                                                                                          Kienian, McMahon, J. Wallace and Winston.  A large congregation was in the church, and among those present were Sisters of the Church, scholars from St. Joseph's School, Fremantle, pupils from the Christian Brothers' College amid numerous other members of the Roman Catholic community.  At the conclusion of the Mass,
                                                                                          Monsignor Verling, in the course of an address, referred to the high traits of character of the deceased.  Her humility and faith were very marked.  Throughout her illness she had showed courage, patience and Christian fortitude, and had been resigned to what God had willed for her.  Although hidden in life he was sure she was known among the saints in heaven.  He extended sympathy to her bereaved relatives.
                                                                                          Sister Mary Elizabeth was born at Pekina, South Australia, and came to Western Australia 15 years ago.  Shortly after her arrival she entered the Church at St. Joseph's Convent, Fremantle, and had been there ever since.  After the Mass, the cortege proceeded to the Karrakatta cemetery, where the remains were interred in the presence of a large gathering.  The Rev. Father R. O'Neill officiated at the graveside.  The chief mourners were the Reverend Mother Regional and the Reverend Mother. St. Joseph's Convent. Fremantle: the Rev. Mother, Mary's Mount Convent. Gooseberry Hill: and the Sisters of St. Joseph of the Apparition; Messrs. M. and J. B. Clancy (brothers). J. and N. Clancy (nephews). Mary and Molly Clancy (nieces).  Mrs, M. Mannion (sister-in-law), Mr. M. Mannion (brother-in-law) and Mr. C. Mannion. 
                                                                                          The priests and members of the Frematle  Sodality of the Children of Mary, in regalia, preceded the cortege from the cemetery gates to the graveside and the following members of thr sodality were pall-bearers: — Misses Kit Carey. Dulcie Boyle, Ronnie Mahoney, Rita O'Flahrety. Messrs. Gimbett,  Amy Brown. Peggy O'Brien and Bessie
                                                                                          Vincent.  Among those present at the grave side were Messrs. W. Callaghan. J. R. and C. Bourke. J. Bourke. jr.. R. Rider and A. B. Amedeo: Mr. and Mrs. L. P. Redden. Mesdames C. P. Callaghan. J. Stocks. Fred Stephens and Watson; the Misses J. Stephens (Collip) and N. Slattery.

                                                                                          A Requiem Mass for the repose of the soul of the late Sister Mary Patricia (O'Dee), of St. Joseph's. Convent, Northam, was offered up at St. Patrick's Church, Adelaide Street, Freemantle, at 9.30 o'clock on Saturday morning, when Monsignor Verling presided, assisted by the Very Rev. Father J. Neville, O.M.I.  The Very Rev. Father Dunn, P.P., Northam. was celebrant. The chanters were the Very Rev. Dr. McMahon and the Rev. Fathers Purcell,, O.M.I. Goodie, Wallace, Winstone. Hogan and Pace.
                                                                                          Other priests In the Sanctuary were Monsignor Fagan, the Very Rev. Dean Brennan, the Very Rev. Father Robinson. C.S&A., and the Rev. Fathers R. O'Neill. Masterson, Moss, Kenny, Donogher. O'Connor. Crowley, O'Reilly, Brown, Culkn, Kenny. O.M.I.. Ryan, O.M.I., Philip. O.S.B., Linrhan, Paul, O.S.B., and Russell.  There were also present the Rev. Brother Duffy and Brothers Stannton, Redmond, Foran. Murphy, Boland, O.MX. and Cahill.  Practically the whole of the accommodation in the church was filled and among those present were Sisters of the Church, scholars from St. Joseph's School, Fremantle, pupils from the Christian Brothers' College, and numerous other members of the Catholic community.  Monsignor Verling spoke in eulogistic term of her life of devotion and service  and particularly the high standard of educational work carried on by Sister Mary Patricia' in Fremantle,  Albany and Northam during the 28 years she resided in this State.  He said that the late Sister Mary Patricia was born at Oola, Limerick. Ireland, and arrived in Fremantle 28 years ago, and entered St. Joseph's Convent, Fremantle. She taught in the convent school at
                                                                                          East Fremantle and Fremantle for 18 years, at Albany for one year and for the last seven years in Northam.  The deceased was a very successful teacher and organiser, keenly in terested in her work, and would be gratefully remembered by many now grown-up who had passed through the schools during her regime.  Ill-health overtook her four months ago.  Her disposition was of the brightest.  She was exceptionally kind and loved by all.  At the conclusion of the Mass the funeral cortege proceeded to the Karrakatta Cemetery,  where the remains were interred in the presence of a large gathering.  The Rev. Father J. Fahey conducted the last rites.  The chief mourners were Mother Regional and three sisters of the deceased's own family — the Rev. Mother of St. Joseph's Convent. Fremantle, Sister Mary Kevin and Sister Mary Aidan — the Rev. Mother of St. Mary Mount Convent; Gooseberry Hill, and Sisters of St. Joseph of the Apparition.  Several other orders were also represented. The Priests, and members of the Fremantle Sodality of the Children of Mary, in regalia, preceded the cortege from the Cemetery gates to the graveside and the following members of the
                                                                                          Sodality were pall bearers: — The Misses Florence-Copley. Kittie Carey, Connie Tench. Olive Edward, Mildred Harvey. Violet Gore, Dorothy Tangney and May Houston.
